Features of ChiroTouch
Chiropractors rely on accurate records, billing, and insurance information in order to maximize their office’s potential, and a product like ChiroTouch can help. By using the right chiropractic software, offices can spend more time treating patients and growing their practice. ChiroTouch is a complete software package that allows chiropractors to more easily take patient notes, allows the front office to handle scheduling, provides the back office with the ability to process billing, and has a means of storing Electronic Health Records (EHR).1 There are many integrated features in the software. The interface is “all-in-one”, which is user-friendly and can be customized to each office. A paperless office is possible with the EMR and Reports features. Billing mistakes, which cost time and money, can be avoided with the Billing and Reports module. There are components for Scheduling and Patient Flow as well. The software can also be used with iPads, and it provides MyChiroTouch web services.2
Support and Training from the Community
The product provides individualized support through a personal account manager who understands the specifics of a particular chiropractic office. The account manager is the personal liaison to the support team. In terms of training, 4-6 weeks of one-on-one training are provided to the chiropractor and support staff. There is also “live remote online training”. The web portal and documentation provide adjunct support. The system is customizable for an individual chiropractor’s practice. The software offers the online MyChiroTouch Community, which is a client portal that contains webinars, training materials, online support, news, and a ChiroCode ICD-9 & HCPCS search utility. The latter allows for fast referencing of billing codes.3 The community also provides a free demonstration of their product, as well as an overview video, online.4 Webinars are also available to clients. ChiroTouch Academy supports continued learning for chiropractors.5
History and Certification
The product began development in 1999. It is the “Practice Management EHR software by Integrated Practice Solutions Inc.” The software solution was developed so that chiropractors can find their practices easier to run, with things done more quickly and efficiently. This reduces practice expenses, as well.6 The software was EHR stimulus-certified (ONC-ATCB). The government is offering a “healthcare stimulus package” that can “provide reimbursement payments to qualifying chiropractors of up to $44,000 over the next few years”. In order to be complaint with the “Meaningful Use Criteria” required for this stimulus, the software must also be certified “through an authorized testing and certification body, as determined by the Office of the National Coordinator (ONC)”. Each chiropractor’s reimbursement will be determined based upon “approved Medicare submissions”. The software company offers details about this program, requirements, and certification on their website.7 The overall philosophy behind the software is simple: “The chiropractors that choose ChiroTouch over other software companies do so because they desire a better quality of life – for their patients, their staff, and themselves.”8
