Massage Therapy School
The New School for Massage, Bodywork and Healing is a Chicago based educational institute for massage and healing arts. The school offers a Massage and Bodywork Diploma Program for students seeking their massage license. Massage therapists can also register for continuing education courses to enhance their skills. The program is 600 hours and divided into five different units including: Human Sciences for Massage Therapists and Bodyworkers, Massage and Bodywork, Skills Application and Assessment, and Professional Development. The objective of the program is to prepare students for a career in massage therapy and to provide them with the proper knowledge required to pass the Massage & Bodywork Licensing Exam. Graduates are fully trained to obtain positions in hotels, health clubs, spas, salons, or to develop a private practice.
The School Clinic
The massage therapy clinic is located in the same building that the classes are taught in. The clinic is where students practice massage therapy, client interaction, and professional skills under instructor supervision. Sessions take place in private treatment rooms where clients can optimize physical and emotional health. All student treatments are performed under the supervision of an instructor. Professional treatments are only given by licensed professionals, school graduates, or instructors. Professionals can give clients a relaxation massage, deep tissue, or a pregnancy massage.
