Chiropractic care

Chiropractors treat many conditions such as the following: strain/sprains, disc herniations, Sciatica, Piriformis Syndrome, Torticollis, Whiplash, headaches and migraines, rotator cuff problems, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, ITB Syndrome, shin splints, etc.  They will use not only manual manipulation of the spine and/or extremities but also incorporate physiotherapy applications as well.  Such applications include but are not limited to: ultrasound, cold laser, electrical muscle stimulation, decompression, inter-segmental traction, diathermy, and various exercises for rehabilitation.  Some Chiropractors will additionally use massage therapy and acupuncture to achieve further pain relief.  Chiropractors work on both the musculo-skeletal and nervous system, massage therapists work on the muscular system, and acupuncturists work on balancing the meridians of the human body.  The nervous system controls and coordinates every organ system and body part in the human body.  The brain is the most important organ of the entire body, it’s the first to detect pain, control hunger, thirst, emotional responses, and coordinate all of our senses and desires.  Making sure the ascending and descending tracts are in constant homeostasis is the ultimate task of the practicing Chiropractor.  When a subluxation, or mis-alignment arises in the spine and/or extremity, the nervous system fails to function at optimal capacity.  This may lead to disease processes in the human body.
