Neck and back pains are very common within middle-aged and older patients, or patients that play sports and partake in rigorous exercise or training.  In most cases, neck and back pain can be treated within a short amount of time. Treatment plans will typically vary with each specialist you see.  In other cases, treatment options may include surgical treatments performed by a back or neck surgeon.  The surgery is typically needed for patients who are experiencing pain that cannot be managed by other alternatives or medication.

Once you are experiencing neck and back pain it’s important to discuss your options with your doctor or specialist as they will be able to x-ray and diagnose what is truly causing the neck and back pain.  If this is left untreated, other problems may arise and other areas in the back may become inflamed or unbearable to deal with.  It’s vital to see your doctor or specialist to take a look at how serious the problem is, as well as offer some treatment options to you.
