Complementary to regular Chiropractic adjustments, several natural methods exist to keep skin healthy and full of beauty. Dry brush exfoliation is an important way to help the body detoxify. A dry brush exfoliation should be done upon waking prior to a shower. A supple, bristle brush should be used for the process of removing dead skin.
Increase Water
In natural health philosophy, the skin indicates the effectiveness and health of a variety of bodily functions including digestion. Conditions such as acne, dry eyes, and psoriasis often reflect gut complications. To improve digestion, increase intake of water. At least eight glasses of water should be consumed per day.
Improve digestion
Another way to improve digestive health is to increase daily consumption of fiber. The addition of whole grains as opposed to processed grains will yield a higher daily intake of fiber. Eating more fruits and vegetables also helps to increase fiber consumption. Sugar intake exists as a major influence on skin health and healthy aging.
Decrease Sugar
To better promote natural skin beauty, decrease intake of processed sugar as well as products such as desserts and carbonated beverages that contain high fructose corn syrup. As mentioned earlier, fruits are helpful for increasing fiber intake; fruits also contain natural sugars that will still satisfy sugar cravings. Finally, intake of essential fatty acids from eating fish such as Wild Salmon or from flaxseeds also has shown to improve skin conditions. Essential fatty acids improve skin health by decreasing inflammation.[1]
