Masseuse

Massage

A masseuse is also known as a massage therapist.  They help you to reduce your overall stress while promoting a physical and mental well being.  Massage therapists work in a variety of different locations.  You can choose to go to a spa or wellness center, Chiropractic office, physical therapy clinic or even a gym.  Masseuses can choose to also work independently or on location.  Some offices have massage therapists come in monthly to massage their employees as a thank you.  Other massage therapists may choose to travel and meet you at your home, office, gym or physical therapy clinic.

Benefits of Massage

Frequent massages help with headaches, injuries, sore backs and stressed muscles. Generally your massage therapist will recommend a regimen that will suit your overall goals.  There are many different types of massages that you can choose from.  A massage therapist may only specialize in a few different massages, while others have different specialties.

Massage training

Each massage therapist has to go through rigorous training and education in order to be properly licensed within your state.  Different schools also offer different specializations or holistic teachings.  It’s important to ask the different massages in which your massage therapist specializes in.  Some massage therapists may specialize in deep tissue, while others specialize in Shiatsu massages.

Custom Massage

In most cases each massage therapist will customize a massage to suit your pain level and massage therapy goals.  A client may have neck and upper back pain only, while a different client may need lower back work as well as their foot work.  It’s vital that you communicate the areas which are causing you discomfort so that your massage therapist can pay more attention to the areas that are causing you more pain.  Your massage therapist may recommend an hour or longer depending on the severity and underlying tension involved.
