Massage Tables

Massage tables are specialized tables utilized in the art and science of massage therapy.  These tables range in various designs from wooden frames to lighter steel frames and vary greatly in prices.  The fabric choices range from durable vinyl, cloth, or leather and range in every color choice imaginable.  Vinyl is typically the best choice as it’s the easiest to keep clean and maintain and is the most durable.  Massage tables can be purchased at different heights or widths to tailor to specific patient populations and the individual therapist’s needs.  Massage tables have many different add-ons to aid in the comfort of the massage and the ease of the practitioner.  These include arm shelves, head-rests, and breast and pregnancy cut-outs.  Massage tables can be covered with warming covers to help warm the patient and therefore relax the patient and their musculature. 

Portable

Massage tables may be stationary or the more user-friendly portable version.  Stationary tables are usually bulky, expensive, and hard to maneuver while stationary tables allow the practitioner to expand their massage therapy business and educate the public on benefits of massage therapy.  Portable massage tables are especially useful at sporting events such as marathons, triathlons, and bike events.  These athletes benefit from massage therapy before and after their events, with the treatments being quick and tailored to their individual sporting needs.  The tables can be fitted with plastic or vinyl covers for easy clean-up and quick change between competitors.  Massage tables are seen virtually everywhere these days, from chiropractic offices, spas, hotels, cruise ships, beaches, and corporate events.  Massage is becoming a way of life, an old alternative art form that’s making new wave in the field of alternative medicine and healthcare.
