Located in Peoria, IL, The Therapeutic Massage program at ICC prepares students for a career in the massage industry. Instructors work their best to engage students in the classroom by teaching business ethics, communication skills, and massage techniques. These classes will teach students how to start a business and interact appropriately with clients on a daily basis. As students continue on with credit hours, they will begin to work one-on-one with clients and apply the information they’ve learned. Students are required to take Human Anatomy, Physiology, First Aid, Pathology, Fundamental Massage Techniques and several others. In order to be accepted to ICC’s program, students must have a high school diploma; score a 62 or above on the COMPASS Reading Test; and obtain a C or better in the basic Biology and Therapeutic Massage class.
Cortiva Institute
Students enrolled in Cortiva’s program will learn top healing techniques, massage theory, massage benefits, business ethics and client relationships. Faculty will use text books combined with personal experience and hands on expertise to educate students about the best massage methods. Graduates of the program are welcome to return and take continuing education programs on maternity massage, deep tissue massage, and several others. The curriculum not only prepares students for a career in massage therapy, but also to the National Certification Exam and state licensing exam. Cortiva is accredited by the state in operates in and recognized by the U.S Department of Education.
