Massage Parlor

Massage parlors are the same as any other major spa or massage therapy clinic around the United States.  The massage parlors within the United States offer the same massages and extra amenities as any other massage and spa would. Unfortunately, massage parlors once had a terrible reputation and name.  They were once associated with brothels and incorporated many unethical behaviors by the staff and clients. Many had been forced to shut down and were reported to local authorities and police.  There are still very few massage parlors that operate legally in other countries that aren’t up to ethical standards. 

What They Offer 

Some massage parlors will also have an area where customers can receive facials, waxing or manicuring services before or after they receive their massage service. Many full service spas are competing with major massage therapy parlors or smaller operated massage clinics.   Many people like the convenience of having their hair, nails and facial done at one place.

Convenience

The average woman today works full time and juggles a family and a home. Many people are attracted to the spa atmosphere, as it’s relaxing and allows them to get everything done in one spot.  Massage parlors offer clients a relaxing experience.  Most clinics may also offer complimentary snacks, drinks or even treatments depending on seasonal promotions. Many new clients may be offered a cheaper rate or a package deal to allow them to try different massages or specialty massages.  This also assists the massage therapist in building their new clientele base. Each massage parlor is different and will specialize in different massages and therapies.  Some massage clinics specialize in more sports related injuries or sports related massages while others cater more towards pregnant women or people that have different head or neck injuries.  It’s always important to call ahead to see what massage therapist specializes in what areas, as not all massage therapists are trained in all massages offered.
