Job Outlook for Chiropractors

Chiropractic employment is expected to increase in the next several years because consumers are utilizing alternative health care more than ever.  After completing education requirements, individuals looking to get into the profession will more than likely have job prospects.  Between 2006 and 2016, chiropractic jobs are expected to increase by 14 percent.  Health conscious Americans are turning to chiropractic care treatment for a natural and noninvasive solution to their health problems.  Instead of prescribing medical drugs or performing surgery, chiropractors emphasize the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. 

 Salaries

The average earnings for chiropractors in 2006 were $65,220.  Fifty percent of those chiropractors earned between $45,710 and$96,300 a year.  In the beginning of anyone’s chiropractic career, earnings are typically lower but gradually increase as the practice grows and becomes more prominent.  Salary earnings also depend of the location of the practice as well as the physician’s education and training.  The more education that the chiropractor earns, the more likely he or she will attract clients.
