What is Chiropractic?
Chiropractic treatment is a method that aims to improve the flow of nerve transmission. Doctors will use their hands to release pain in nerves caused by misaligned joints and bones. Instead of performing surgery or prescribing medicine, chiropractors use non-invasive methods to get to the root of the problem. The most commonly used method is called a spinal adjustment in which the doctor uses gentle force to realign the spine. The goal of manipulation is to restore mobility and movement in the spine, resulting in decreased back pain. Doctors may also use other treatments for a spinal adjustment including massage, exercise instructions, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and traction.
Chiropractic Rehabilitation Specialist
Spine rehab is a therapeutic solution to back and spine pain as well as other problems in the muscular system. During a patient’s first session, the chiropractor will conduct an overall function test, assessing strength, coordination, endurance, and flexibility. After determining the results of the function test, the physician will decide on the appropriate intensity, mode, and duration of exercise to improve the patient’s existing condition. A chiropractic rehabilitation specialist (CRS) knows how to improve function of the spine without using a lot of equipment or space. If more intense therapy is required, a CRS will refer the patient to another rehabilitation specialist. Sometimes patients will need reevaluation if pain doesn’t diminish after several sessions. Chiropractic adjustments will help a patient achieve short term pain relief. The patient must continue practicing exercises after completing rehabilitation sessions to decrease any reoccurring pain.
